Chap Hutcheson is a Managing Director of Platte River Equity, having joined at its inception in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Chap served for more than two decades in senior management positions with publicly owned corporations in the oilfield services, telecommunications and financial services industries.
In 1995, Chap co-founded Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE: CCI), the largest owner and operator of wireless communication sites in the U.S. He served as the company’s founding Chairman and CEO and continues to serve as a director.
Previously, Chap served as COO of the financial services firm Pinnacle Global Group (Nasdaq) and as President, COO and a director of Baroid Corporation, a NYSE-listed oilfield services company. Earlier he served as Senior VP of Bernard Johnson Inc., a consulting architectural-engineering firm, and was as a director of Titanium Metals Corporation and Special Metals Corporation.
Chap received a B.S. from Northwestern University and served three years as an officer in the U.S. Army. He is a Trustee of Northwestern University. He and his wife live in Houston, Texas.
