Platte River Equity (“Platte River”) is pleased to announce its inclusion in Inc.’s fifth annual list of Founder-Friendly Investors in 2023. The list recognizes firms that entrepreneurs collaborate with and trust as they receive the support they need to take their businesses to the next level. Platte River is one of a select group of private equity firms included that focus on investing in lower middle market industrial companies.
“Now more than ever, founder-led companies need financing partners that offer guidance, expertise, and understanding – not just capital,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. Media. “These are the private equity firms that have founders’ backs when it comes to accelerating growth.”
“Platte River is honored to be named a Founder-Friendly Investor by Inc. for the second year in a row,” said Lauren Metz, Vice President of Business Development. “Partnering with family and entrepreneurial-owned businesses is our core focus. We have designed our entire strategy around partnering with these companies and helping them navigate the transition to private equity ownership.” Managing Director Peter Calamari added, “We are humbled to have been nominated by the entrepreneurs and family owners that we have had the pleasure to partner with. We are passionate about working with entrepreneurs and family owners and are committed to continuing the legacies they have built.”

The “Founder-Friendly Investors” award is a program designed by Inc. Magazine to help founder-led companies accelerate growth and create revenue. Private equity and venture capital firms that have exited U.S.-based, founder-led portfolio companies are eligible to apply. For investments to qualify, portfolio company founders must have remained actively involved in their business for at least one-year post-investment. Winning firms are selected based upon their track record, reputation, leadership and founder references. Platte River is not aware of the number of advisers also surveyed for the award. Like all entrants, Platte River paid a fee to be considered for this award and pays a fee to use marketing collateral associated with the award.
